Whenever my aunt comes to Singapore with my cousin or grandmother, she  will most probably head to Beach Road Prawn Mee to have Prawn Mee for breakfast or brunch. In October, my aunt went there with my uncle, cousin and her business partner, However, I could not make it as I had meetings during that time. This time in November ,  I went with my aunt and grandma to Beach Road Prawn Mee because I was craving for it.

We took a cab to the place and the taxi driver accidentally drove past the store so he turned back without charging us the extra fees. I have totally forgotten how Beach Road Prawn Mee looked like before as it has been eons since I last went there but it seems like their system and management have improved drastically. Everything is very organized and they are pretty high-tech with their payment methods. They had a variety of prawn mee meals to offer but my aunt went ahead to order it for us since she knows the dishes far better than me.

1st picture[Beach Road Prawn Mee] – My aunt ordered the original Prawn Mee for each of us and it costs SGD$5.50 each. The prawn noodles consist of fat yellow noodles, prawn soup, a small handful of vegetables and 4 prawns. The noodles tasted so good. The soup is delicious but too oily for my liking so I did not finish it after consuming the rest of the ingredients. The prawns are huge and succulent! That’s the X-factor of the Prawn Mee, isn’t it? The prawn is easy to peel as they only left half of the shell.

2nd picture[East Coast Ngoh Hiang] – This is another stall just next to the oh-so-famous prawn mee stall. They sell fried food. The procedure for ordering goes like that. You choose the raw food available and they will tell you the total cost (for this case, it was SGD$4.30) and fry it before bringing it to your table. This stall totally complements the one selling prawn mee. The fried food and chilli are both so mouth-watering as I could not stop eating it.

In conclusion, I am really glad I finally made it to Beach Road Prawn Mee so I was also able to discover Ngoh Hiang.
