montana's ribs

a day before pendy’s departure, jenny made a reservation for about 20 people for montana’s cookhouse. in total, 19 people came. i have been hearing lots of reviews of montana’s ribs for ages but never got down to try it because of the huge distance. so excited to finally come here !

montana’s is a huge restaurant with really friendly servers who are so casual and fun loving ! during the part whereby pendy had to drink 2 shots of alcohol, she put so much whip cream on the glass for pendy to find the shots and such. i will always remember the hilarious scenes. the table had a cool concept of using drawing paper to lay the table and giving us cups of crayons to draw on time. we could draw stuff and play games with it, how fun !

1st & 2nd pictures – the oven-baked antojitos, which cost CAN9.99 was ordered by ling. the flour tortilla is ovenbaked and compirsd of a mixtures of cheese, onion, red pepper and jalapeno. ling was generous enough to share with us. the cheese literally melted in my mouth and it has a tinge of spice as well. “the appetizer tastes so delicious ! the main dish will definitely be better !” i though.

3rd picture – marvin’s mushrooms was part of his side dish. i had one of it and it is so juicy and good !! totally loving it !!

ratings: 4.5/5★

4th picture – i got the regular hickory smokehouse ribs – pork back ribs (CAN$20.99), which was huge in size !! my side dishes were mash potato and black beans and i chose the pork ribs coated in honey garlic (my favorite sauce). the ribs so mouth-watering that i ate it in segments slowly but surely !! i crave for it from time to time but i’m staying way to far from the restaurant.

ratings: 5/5★

5th picture – the other table ordered the skillet cookie (CAN$5.99) and invited us to share it since it is huge !! the skillet cookie comprised of two ENORMOUS baked chocolate cookies topped with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce and served on a skillet. the cookie was crispy but way too sweet when ate with the ice cream and caramel sauce. however, it is sizzling hot so is it pleasing to the taste.

ratings: 4/5★

6th picture - pendy had to find two shots in that MOUNTAIN of whip cream. amazing how he does it on edwin’s lap. it was a funny scene and everyone was running around to avoid being dirtied by him. eventually, everyone got creamed by him except for philene and i.

7th picture – it’s cute how they served their beverages in a jar. cool concepts – extra points for ambiance !

i was shocked to leave without footing the bill because pendy paid for 19 of us and the food weren’t even cheap. i’m really grateful for this but the farewell also drew tears to many of us when he made a speech and we prayed for him.
