i have always wanted to add an entry regarding new restaurants that i have visited but i always end up updating the older entries as i have been really busy and lethargic for weeks. here’s 3 restaurants i have yet to visit and revisited but not adding it to my list of restaurants.

just last friday, we were having care group and we tend to have dinners aftermath. some people suggested ” the one ” but we were so sick of it as it is the usual restaurant to head to after care group so supri suggested ” curry king “. since i haven’t been there for ages and i miss their green curry, why not ?

i used to go to curry king very often with arya last year but since he has left, i haven’t eaten there for eons ! the place is good for casual dine outs but the service is always so bad ! servers either spoke rudely to us or do not want to split the bill and such. i had their green curry (CAN$8.99) frequently and i must say it is their signature dish – everyone should try it !! i couldn’t have it on friday as i was having a bad sore throat so i got the century egg and chicken congee (CAN$4.99), which was therapeutic for my throat. i have always love century egg and chicken congee and the one at curry king is of no exception. fortunately, catherine was kind enough to buy the ” you tiao ” (long donut) so that we can share and dip it into our congee. the long donut is not as oily as the ones at T&T but it is really tough and rough. it is soften with the help of the hot congee though so it is all good !

the rest of them enjoyed their fried rice and curry meat except for zach. though he loves his green curry dish, he was pouring tonnes of water down his throat so as to clear the spiciness in his throat, poor him.

after watching ” just go with it ” with the v-connectors, we decided to have denny’s for a change as we have always been dining at taiwanese/japanese restaurants. i’ve always love denny’s even though it’s just a regular american diner because firstly, it is open 24/7 and secondly, breakfast meals are my favorite !

the service yesterday was not too bad. the server was really friendly though she is unclear and makes cold jokes at times. her positive attitude made it up though ! we had more than enough time to make our orders and she was patient enough to make it clear on who’s getting the cups of warm and cold water. i got 1/2 prime rib eggs benedict (CAN$7.99). as usual, i love the poached egg with cheese and prime rib. they did not have red potatoes on hand so i got the hashbrown instead, which goes very well with the eggs benedict. the meat is not as tender as it should be so though. i prefer the salsa sensation eggs benedict i had on jny’s birthday (9th jan 2011)  way more than the prime rib eggs benedict. so after dinner, i was craving for something sweet as usual and thus, vivi and i ordered banana split. girls will always be girls – always such sweet tooths. i was pretty surprised to see the dessert being so generously topped with whipped cream, caramel, hot fudge and strawberry sauce and chopped nuts. the whipped cream seems to be more than the 3 scoops of ice cream itself. the dessert was more than enough for vivi and i but we still managed to finish it anyways.

well, guu & i go wayyyyy back ! back in 2006, my high school mates and i often go there for birthday events and such & we would often order many tapas and glasses of cocktails until we get tipsy and the total bill came up to a total of CAN$400+. i went there with mimi and aiden once in costumes during halloween 2006 too and the servers were all dressed in masks and costumes. i was so thankful then cos we didn’t feel out of place. i would give a HUGE thumbs up for their tapas, cocktails and creme brulees but i’ll be back to review more of their food when i do taste it again as it has been so long ago !

2 weeks ago, fine and i were studying together at the blenz nearby guu and we were starving so we decided to head over to guu for dinner. it was a sunday night and it was also the last day of dine out vancouver 2011 so there were many people lining up ahead of us. we decided to put our name down and come back half an hour later. fortunately when we came back, we were seated immediately ! i decided to order the prawn and scallop rice gratin (CAN$8.90) since i have a strong fetish on scallops ! i was pretty shocked to see the portion so small as i haven’t eaten at guu for YEARS ! but what do you expect ? guu serves quality over quantity so i must salute them for it ! the prawn and scallop rice gratin consisted of garlic rice with sauteed prawn and scallop covered with creamy clam chowder and cheese. i love how everything melts in your mouth just by a scoop of it. though it is not very filling, i was very satisfied by the mouth-watering dish ! fine, on the other hand, got salmon cheese cream udon, which comprised of salmon, spinach, mushroom, onion, cream and cheese udon. she found it delectable as well.
